The area is characterized by a semi-arid terrain, with residual soils and xerophytic vegetation. The mineralizations are mainly associated with pyroxenites but are also found in norites, gabbro-norites, and anorthosites. These mafic-ultramafic rocks produce characteristic Vertisols. A quantitative analysis for the rock discrimination was based on JM distances derived from training samples (amplitude values of L-HH, L-VV, and L-HV). The investigation showed the possibility of the discrimination of ore-bearing intrusives from the host rocks, with the exception of amphibolite. Variations in the surface moisture affected the SAR responses, prior to the data acquisition, and caused the higher returns created by wet Vertisols, favouring the discrimination of the rock alteration products. %8 Oct. %N 20 %T Evaluating the discrimination of Cu-mineralized rock alteration products from simulated MAPSAR Images in the Curaçá Valley, Brazil %@secondarytype PRE PI %@archivingpolicy denypublisher denyfinaldraft12 %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup banon %@usergroup marciana %@group %@group DSR-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DSR-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DPI-INPE-MCT-BR %@group %@group DPI-INPE-MCT-BR %3 983622_738589411_782246066.pdf %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@issn 0143-1161 %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2007/12.21.15.31.54 %@affiliation %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %B International Journal of Remote Sensing %@versiontype publisher %P 4701-4708 %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2007/12.21.15.31 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2007 %V 28 %@doi 10.1080/01431160701596156 %O iOpenAccess %A Rabelo, T.
