Indeed, the temperature distribution PCMB(Delta T) of these data can be quite well fitted by the anomalous probability distribution emerging within nonextensive statistical mechanics, based on the entropy Sq ß k{1- f dx [P(x)]q}/(q-1) (S1=-k f dxP(x) ln[P(x)]). For the CMB frequencies analysed, Ë = 40.7, 60.8, and 93.5GHz, PCMB(Delta T) is well described by Pq(Delta T) å 1/[1 (q -1)B(Ë)(Delta T)2]1/(q-1), with q =1.04}0.01, the strongest non-Gaussian contribution coming from the South-East sector of the celestial sphere. Moreover, Monte Carlo simulations exclude, at the 99% confidence level, P1(Delta T) å e-B(Ë)(Delta T)2 to fit the three-year data. %8 April %N 1 %T Deviation from Gaussianity in the cosmic microwave background temperature fluctuations %K Deviation, cosmic radiation, background radiation, temperature, ASTROPHYSICS. %@secondarytype PRE PI %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup marciana %@usergroup simone %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %@group %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %3 Deviation_Bernui.pdf %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2007/05.23.18.02.26 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fí %@affiliation sicas (CBPF) %B EPL Journal Europhysics Letters %@versiontype publisher %P doi: 10.1209/0295-5075/78/19001 %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2007/05.23.18.02 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2007 %V 78 %A Bernui, Armando, %A Tsallis, C., %A Villela, Thyrso, %@dissemination PORTALCAPES %@area CEA
