The source belongs to the new class of highly absorbed X-ray binaries discovered by IBIS/INTEGRAL. Our primary goal was to identify the infrared counterpart of the source, previously suggested to be a LMXB and then further reclassified as a HMXB. We have made use of Chandra observations of the source in order to better constrain the number of possible counterparts. Using the differential photometry technique, in observations spanning a timescale of 1 month, we found no long term variability in our observations. This is compatible, and we suggest here, that the source is a HMXB. %E Braga, João, %E D'Amico, Flávio, %E Rothschild, Ricard E., %T Search for an Infrared Counterpart of IGR J16358-4756 %@isbn 0-7354-0332-5 %S AIP Conference Proceedings %@secondarytype PRE LI %K Infrared imaging, near infrared observations, x-ray binaries. %@nexthigherunit 8JMKD3MGPCW/3ETR8EH %B The transient milk way: a perspective for mirax %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup simone %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DAS-INPE-MCT-BR %@secondarykey INPE--/ %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2006/12.08.12.08.04 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Universidade do Vale do Paraíba (UNIVAP) %I American Institute of Physics %P 97-101 %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m17@80/2006/12.08.12.08 %D 2006 %@documentstage not transferred %V 840 %A D' Amico, Flávio, %A Jablonski, Francisco José, %A Rodrigues, Cláudia Vilega, %A Cieslinski, Deonísio, %A Hickel, Gabriel, %@dissemination NTRSNASA; BNDEPOSITOLEGAL. %@area CEA
