Elemental and atomic absorption analyses fit the compositions K-2[Fe(metSO)(2)]SO4 (.) H2O and [Cu(metSO)(2)](.) H2O. Electronic absorption spectra of the complexes are typical of octahedral eeometries. Infrared spectroscopy suggests coordination of the ligand to the metal through the carboxylate and sulfoxide groups. An EPR spectrum of the Cu(II) complex indicates tetragonal distortion of its octahedral symmetry. Fe-57 Mossbauer parameters are also consistent with octahedral stereochemistry for the iron(II) complex. The complexes are very soluble in water. %8 sept. %N 14 %T Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of new metal (II) complexes with mehtionine sulfoxide %K acid, iron. %@secondarytype PRE PI %@group LCP-INPE-MCT-BR %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@issn 0095-8972 %2 lcp.inpe.br/ignes/2004/12.02.15.00.05 %@affiliation UNESP, Instituto de Quimica, %@affiliation Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso do Sul, CCET, %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciaisl %@affiliation USP, Instituto de Fisica, %B Journal of Coordination Chemistry %P 1225-1231 %4 lcp.inpe.br/ignes/2004/12.02.15.00 %D 2004 %V 57 %A Massabni, Antonio Carlos, %A Corbi, Pedro Paulo, %A Melnikov, Peter, %A Zacharias, Marisa Aparecida, %A Rechenberg, HercĂlio R., %@area COMB
