A simplified analysis that relates thrust and specific impulse in such systems is developed. The results are presented in terms of variation of mass efficiency or payload ratio with the external power supplied to the system. It is shown that the utilization of a separate source of energy is advantageous up to a determined value of the external power that depends on the satellite total mass and on its characteristics increment of velocity. %8 June %N 6 %T Analysis of auxiliary propulsion systems with a separate source of energy %@secondarytype PRE PI %@archivingpolicy denypublisher denyfinaldraft24 %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup banon %@usergroup marciana %@group LCP-INPE-BR %@group LCP-INPE-BR %@e-mailaddress cida@lcp.inpe.br %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@issn 0094-5765 %2 lcp.inpe.br/ignes/2004/04.20.14.52.34 %B Acta Astronautica %@versiontype publisher %P 451-459 %4 lcp.inpe.br/ignes/2004/04.20.14.52 %@documentstage not transferred %D 1993 %V 29 %@doi 10.1016/0094-5765(93)90037-W %A Costa, Fernando Souza, %A Carvalho Júnior, João Andrade de, %@dissemination WEBSCI; PORTALCAPES; COMPENDEX. %@area COMB
