AbstractFilmes de nanotubos de carbono multicamadas alinhados foram produzidos por Plasma de Microondas sobre substratos de Si/SiO 2, Ti/TiN e quartzo. Nanopartículas de Ni e Fe foram utilizados como catalisadores. A morfologia e estrutura cristalina das amostras foram analisadas por microscopia eletrônica de alta resolução e espectroscopia Raman. O espectro Raman apresentou uma forte dependência em relação à distribuição de diâmetros e ao tipo de defeito cristalino. Medidas de emissão de elétrons foram efetuadas num dispositivo tipo diodo, com geometria de placas paralelas, revelando um baixo campo elétrico (1-3 V/mm) para obtenção de correntes de 10mA/cm2 (turn-on field). Boa estabilidade na emissão foi verificada para correntes dessa ordem. ABSTRACT: Aligned multiwalled carbon nanotubes films were produced by Microwave Plasma on Si/SiO2, Ti/TiN and quartz substrates. Ni and Fe nanoparticles were used as catalyst. The morphology and crystalline structures of the samples were analyzed by high resolution electron microscopy and by Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectra have presented strong dependence on diameter distribution and type of structural defects. Field emission measurements were carried out in diodetype equipment with parallel plate configuration, which revealed values from 1 to 3V/mm for turn-on field. Good stability was verified for currents of 10-6 A.
