| Abstract | Utilizando dados de radiossondagem as 12TMG de 1968 a 1976, para Manaus (59, 98 {{{{{W;}}}}} 3,15 S) e Belém (48, {{{{{48W;}}}}} 1,38S), da região Amazônica do Brasil, são feitas as análises das variações sazonais e as de curto prazo. O clima das região Amazônica e influenciado por um sistema de alta pressão em 200 mb, cujo centro passa sobre as regiões da Bolívia, centro da Amazônia, da Colômbia e mais a oeste da Amazônia. Em Belém, nos baixos níveis verificam-se mudanças na direção do vento, provavelmente devido aos efeitos das circulações locais. A media climatológica de água precipitável às 12TMG apresenta sempre os maiores valores em Manaus, porem, as medias mensais mostram que algumas vezes o valor em Belém e superior ao de Manaus. Verifica-se que a água precipitável as 00TMG em Belém é maior que o valor as 12TMG para as duas estações. No estudo das variáveis de curto prazo verifica-se: 1) oscilações na direção do vento, nos baixos níveis, nas duas estações, com periodicidade de 3 a 5 {{{{{dias;}}}}} 2) a umidade relativa atinge o máximo logo depois das máximas de curvatura ciclônica (cavados) no campo de {{{{{vento;}}}}} 3)os transportes turbulentos de {{{{{umidade;}}}}} u'q'>0 e v'q'<0. Essas características concordam com aquelas determinadas nos estudos observacionais e teóricos das ondas de leste. ABSTRACT: Analyses of seasonal and short term variations, for two stations Manaus (59, {{{{{98W;}}}}} 3,15S) and Belem (48, {{{{{48W;}}}}} 1,35S) located in tropical Brazil, are made using radiosonde data for the period 1968-1976. The climate of the Amazon region is influenced by a high pressure system at 200mb that follows a path from Bolivia to central Amazonas, to Colombia and then to the western part of Amazonas. At low levels at Belem changes of wind direction are noted which are probably due to the effects of local wind systems. The climatological mean of precipitable water at 12GMT is greater at Manaus than at Belem. However, the monthly means show that this is not always the case. precipitable water at 00GMT at Belem is greater than the 12GMT values at both stations. The study of short-term variations revealed: 1) oscillations in the wind direction, at low levels for both stations, with a period of 3 to 5 {{{{{days;}}}}} 2) the relative humidity reaches a maximum immediately after the passage of the maximum ciclonic curvature (trough) in the wind {{{{{field;}}}}} 3) the calculated eddy transports of humidity are u'q'>0 e v'q'<0. These features are in agreement with those determined in observational and theoretical studies of easterly waves. | |||
