Abstract | A structure and dislocation of the frontal zones over South America and frontal structure modification on the North-East of Brazil (NEB) were investigated (eighteen fronts were passed on 2003 by "Climanalyse" date). Frontal zones were identified by different methods: classic synoptic, satellite date and using of non conventional parameters. The differences are discussed. Reanalyzes NCEP data at six levels, satellite data, radio-sound in different points of the East Cost of Brazil and meteorological conventional date at the same points were used. A next NEB frontal dislocation conditions were detected: 1. Baroclinic Low position to the south of 60ºS 2. Frontal through interaction with a warm core barotropic low at the North of Argentina 3. Formation of two vortexes at the cold air after cold front 4. Occurrence of the instant occlusion 5. Appearance of the cyclogenesis process at the principal cold front near 30ºS, 6. Frontal through interaction with the through of the inter-tropical convergence zone 7. Two jet streams appearance at 25ºS and 55ºS 8. South America centre high level anticyclone dislocation to East Differences of the frontal zone structure at the North and South of Brazil are discussed. Wind speed and direction, pressure and precipitation were presented more significant variations during frontal zone pass. Temperature variations were not observed. Baroclinic Lows with the frontal zone only at the middle levels were detected. These systems were formed and localized on NEB and were associated with the precipitations. |
